While waiting for our bundle of joy....

Happy sunday everyone!!

A new card to share with you today... yes, I am waiting for a new bundle of joy in our family - my nephew's first baby to be exact! and as you can imagine, I am excited!

So I wanted to be prepared for the occasion - so baby D's card is all-ready!! :)

This time I did an easel card, wanted it to be CAS - but I'm too much in love with lace, embellies etc!!

The image I used is one of my favourite from Elisabeth Bell's  designs. It was a Bell's and Whistles in my time as DT. If anyone is interested, I'll check with her if it's still in rubber somewhere.

Copics used for colouring:

Hair: E35, E31, E29, E25, YR23, YR21
Skin: E95, E35, E21, E11, E00, E000, R32 (lips)
Top and socks: black, B87, B95, B91, B0000
Background: B91, B0000, BG10
Green Blanket: G99, G82, G21, G0000

Papers used are single doube sided from our LSC.

The sentiment is from Stampin'up. I love it for baby cards, or for small kids :)

and finally, isn't that small giraffe cute?? I fell in love with it. I really enjoyed doing this card, with a lot of anticipation for this baby to arrive.  Each kid is as the charm highlights: a life's Blessing!

Have a happy Sunday.

Challenges I'll be taking part in a part of the fun:

A card fit for a princess

Hi fellow crafters! I hope you are keeping well, especially those who are in cold weather struck countries; and that you had a wonderful week.

Today I want to share with you a card I did with my favourite stamps: those of Magnolia! :)

I coloured my card with Distress inks on Langton hot pressed paper 300gsm, and I played with lots of embellies to create what I had in mind.

On this card I used Magnolia papers from the "Once upon a time collection", the pink paper with the crowns, and a piece of the "pages from a book", which I stuck sideways underneath the image. I distressed it, tore it from various parts, crumbled it, and at the end I added some strokes of gesso. Coming out of one of the torn pieces, I did this small bouquet of flowers. In this close-up image, you can also notice the cute heart made of beads.

I also added the elegant touch with a large piece of lace material which I had in my stash. I think I had kept it aside some years ago, and it was part of a wedding dress someone had given away.
It is beautiful, as you may notice from the card, I placed it under the other bouquet of flowers. You may see a part of the white flower, some of its lace leaves sticking out, and also two of its flowers, on which I placed some pearls in their centre.

Behind the image I put a scalloped edge, made out of a border punch I have. I used Norma's tutorial which was very helpful for a first time. Tilda has some stardust stickles on her pretty dress, and some silver ones on her crown. The pearl strings and the crown stamp finished off the image nicely.

Lace, grey striped ribbon and a crown charm sewn into organza ribbons decorate the lower part of my card.

What else? Oh, the sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set, and finally, for the first time I played with some gesso around the edges and on the flowers. I hope you like this card, and that you let me know what you think about it.

Another angle shot, which shows you the spots I did around the image, also with gesso ;) Finally added two star rhinestones, pink and dainty. I had to stop myself, cause I would have added more stuff!! I shall use this card for a friend who will be celebrating her brithday verrry soon!!

I hope you have a Wonderful Sunday, my dear friends.

I'll be playing along with some Magnolia challenges with this one:

Shabby cute by the name of Gorjuss

Hello my dear crafting friends!!!

Today I came to share with you a Birthday card I made to be used for a friend.

The image I used this time is from the Gorjuss girls, and the colours I worked with this time are blue greens and soft yellow.

She has quite a posh style :) The image is coloured with Copics this time, but the shabby-ish background was done with Distress inks - Antique Linen and brushed Corduroy, to be exact.
For the layout I used a soft shabby style, but with a hint of classic as well.

The whole layout of the card. Now for some detailed photos...

I machine stitched in a shabby style some of the patterned papers, and as you can see I added quite some flowers. They are simply adorable! The largest flower was originally white, but I sprayed it with glimmer mist and distressed the edges with Brushed Corduroy. I also added a pin with some lovely beads from my stash. They give a classy finish.
\

Here you can see better the bottom part of the card, where I added a sentiment, a cute chipboard butterfly, some pearls, and lace. As you might notice, the lace runs through the sentiment, I also tucked a small tag behind the sentiment... you can see it better in the next photo.

I wrote this sentiment by hand, even the other one which I placed on the upper side of the card,

You can also notice the various layers here, and the bronze brads I put on this particular sentiment.

I could not resist to add half a doily on one side of the card, and a round of pearls on  the scalloped cardstock. The patterned papers I used on this are from the stash I used to have before (for those who have not read my previous two posts, I am catching up on cardmaking after a long break of almost six years, so I still have my previous spellbinders dies (there are many more beautiful "toys" now, but they still do their magic) and the patterned papers that my international friends used to send me.

The papers here are from Basic Grey's Wisteria, and the small yellow part is from Maja  Design (don't know which pack because it was lying in my scraps folder).

Finally I stamped also a round postage stamp which is "my new toy" from this card, which says First class.

Finally, this is the inside of this creation. I hope you enjoyed it.

For some added fun, these are the challenges I will be participating in with this babe...

Owl be here for you!

Hello crafting friends!

Second week of January already... and here I am again to share with you my second project after almost seven years of missing from the crafting world :)

A friend of mine, after seeing the bookmarks I did for the sisters for Christmas, asked me if I'd do one for her. Of course, being herself such an amazing person, I agreed to do a personalised bookmark just for her. I asked her for any preferences, and she replied that she loves owls! :)

I went through my stamps, my papers... no owls around! Duh!!

Well, I said to myself: it there are no owls in my crafting things, "owl make one myself!" :) And so I found  a template and cut out every tiny piece of the owl myself, out of cardstock and craft paper. NO the owl is not a die! :)

I hope my friend likes the result.. we'll see!

I used papers from Basic Grey papers from the Bittersweet collection, and as for the tree branch, a dimensional sticker from Jolee's Boutique.

You can observe better the dimensions created with the sticker and from the owl itself, popped up with foam pads.

I stamped a "thank you" sentiment around the image, as this particular person is also a benefactor of our Children's Home, and she is one of our "angels", always trying to contribute and help around.
I stamped some tiny butterflies and used Stickles on them and around the edge for some bling.

I distressed a ticket with Distress inks and added  a doily, lace, fibers and organza ribbon - what is a project without them?

I finished off with a leaf charm, a swirl and some other small embellishments for a sweet finish.

And voila'!! Another project dusted.

Adding it to some challenges for some fun:

Crafty Calendar Challenge as the challenge is "something new". The charm and the fibers are new stash, so there is goes....

Welcoming 2017!

A special greeting to all my friends! It's been quite some years since I last blogged about my paper creations. I had stopped making handcrafted cards due to other commitments, but lately I have managed to create some Christmas bookmarks for some members of my community, and I decided to explore again the blogging adventure.

I had to create a new blog as I was having trouble posting in my original blog (for those who want to see my previous works, this is the URL: craftingmagic.blogspot.com).

These are the four bookmarks I was speaking about. I used Magnolia and Hanglar images, and regarding the style I used, I was inspired by Camilla. I really enjoyed colouring these images, after years of doing so :)

I coloured the images with Distress inks and reinkers, focusing mainly on shades of blue (contrasting with browns). The papers and coordinating snowflakes and blue stars tape is from the Dovecraft Magic and Sparkle range. I also added white lace, blue and gold organza ribbon, Stickles for bling and paper doilies.

These are some more detailed photos for you to enjoy! I wish you all a very blessed and happy 2017, and hopefully I can get back to posting some creations now and then.

One can notice the shiny effect created with Stickles and Crystal Lacquer on the heart that the girl is holding.
Isn't she angelic? :) I have never stopped enjoying myself colouring these images!
I could picture this cutie walking with that candle in her hand.... so Christmassy!
In this photo the dimension of the string of hearts is more visible.

To add some fun, I will be participating with these bookmarks in some challenges:

Craft Heaven shop Craft Heaven blog's challenge, as this month's challenge is called "Winter Blues"
The Noor Design challenge blog and at
The Ribbon Girl Blog as in both challenges the theme is "Anything Goes".
Midweek Magnolias challenge - and my new stash is the Magic and sparkle range of papers, snowflakes stickers and stars tape. My gold organza ribbon is also new, bought especially for the Christmas season.
All About Magnolia  Challenge with "All about anything goes"

Thank you for the opportunity! Please feel free to tell me what you think about these creations. I had a friend of mine order one as a gift for herself when she saw the photos, as she really liked them.
Blessings!

Many well wishes and God sent blessings my dear ones!
