Sweet Lacie!

Hi to all my friends who like to get their hands messy with inks and glues, and ... you know what I mean!!

I have another card to share with you today, this time a "sweet" and summer themed card! :) It seems I'm visiting all the seasons right now! :)

It features Lacie, a Mo Manning digital stamp. She's cute isn't' she?

She is colored with Copics, and paired with a very fitting Basic Grey paper from the Cupcake paper pad. I used quite some embellishments on this one... you never have enough, right? ;)

Copics used:
Skin: E95, E21, E00, E000, R20
Dress/Shoes: R85, R83, R00
Shorts: B97, B91, B0000
Stool: N6, N4, N2, N0, E47, E25, E31, E00
Ice cream: Y06, Y23, TR0000, B95, B91, B0000, E57, E29, E25

hair: E57, E47, E29, E25, YR21
Grass: G99, G82, G17, G21, G20 (R24 flowers)

As you might notice, I used some 3D Crystal Lacquer on her sunglasses, Stickles on the butterflies, lace, pearl string, ribbon, bling and flowers among other things. Actually I also used quite some punches and dies on this card.

Some of the details...

I also decorated the inside, as this specific card will be already on its way to someone special when this post is on. I really hope that both you and the recipient will like this card, as much as I had fun making it!

As usual, I shall include my project as part of some challenges out there! It's part of the fun, and motivates me to try to do always better! Have a wonderful day my friends... and thank you VERY MUCH for leaving some love with your sweet comments! I really like to hear from crafters from all over the world!

You are my all-year-round Springtime

Hello my crafting friends!!

I hope this post, right in the beginning of a fresh week, finds you all in good spirits! :)

I am here to share with you a card made during this weekend, which features a Hanglar stamped image, coloured with Distress inks.

Actually there are two Hanglar stamps here: the bench, and the girl sitting on top. The weather here in Malta is quite Spring-mode lately, and this fact inspired me to choose Spring as my theme and make use of the lovely Maja Designs scraps of paper which I had - even if I had some scraps left from this sheet, they are too precious not to use - I wish I remember who had sent me these papers some years ago... I really wish I could thank them again! They are soo beautiful.

Distress colours I used on this image:

Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hat and Top: Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood, Black Soot
Jacket and pants: Scattered Straw, Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Black Soot
Shoes: Pumice Stone, Black Soot
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen
Bench: Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Pumice Stone
Grass and Flowers: Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, White Gel pen

On some of the corners I used a Stempelglede stamp, which I stamped using Weathered Wood DI, and on the bench one can also notice a wooden watering-can. I saw that it coordinates with the theme, therefore: why not? :)
I distress it a bit with Walnut Stain, to give it that "oldish" used look.

Last, but not least I added some flowers, a beautiful Emily Atherton Enchanting Blossom die cut, which I embellished with blue gems and some bling using Stardust Stickles.

This is the decorated inside of the card... simple but effective :) Obviously using the last tiny bits remaining of the beautiful DP (did I mention that I looove Maja papers? lol) I pray often that our local craft shops fall in love with such brands like Maja, Pion, Magnolia etc... we do not get them here, that's why I get to treasure them a lot :) Anyway the sentiment is from a wooden backed stamp I have (it's been a while so I don't remember the brand name). The note opens up so that one can write any sentiment he/she wants.

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, my friends. I really love to hear from you - thanks for those who take the time to leave comments, either here or on my Fb page (Cards by Rosette).

You hold the key to my heart

Warning!!! Heavy photo content! ;)

A special Hi to all my crafting friends! I am here today to share with you a special set I made for Valentine's Day - not for my Soul mate, as my Love resides in my heart (you know who I'm talkin' about, don't you?). But I had fun doing it, and maybe, who knows... I might find some good use to it!

For the card I used Tilda with those handsome flowers, and while masking it, I added the key, on which she's sitting. I used the same for the container, which I recycled. It's a sweet round container, originally a ready-made salad bowl which one can purchase from a Supermarket.

Distress inks used:
Skin: Vintage Photo and Tattered Rose
Hair: Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo
Dress and hat: Spun sugar, Fired Brick, Black Soot
Socks: Spun Sugar
Top and Shoes: Pumice Stone,
Key: Black Soot, Old Paper Reinker
Background: Tumbled Glass, Broken China

Now isn't that heart doily cute? And you see the small envelope tucked behind the image on the right hand (behind the circular stamps)? This is what it contains... a small but sweet message:

.

A close up of the image and coloring
White accents, including hearts on dress are done with white gel pen

Dies used: Tim Holtz, Sizzix and Spellbinders

Detail of the tulle and lovely pearly string I added to enhance the soft touch. It's really pretty IRL.

And now unto the surprise box I added as part of the set (together with two bottles of home made jam)

I used the same image and filled the insides with Baci (meaning kiss) chocolates and a lovely heart which can be hung as a delicate decorative element.

A side view of the box

Finally, in occasion of this wonderful feast, where we celebrate Love, I leave you with an image of the felt heart I glued on the bottom side of the container's lid. I send a virtual hug to all of you, with a sincere wish that in your life you'll experience the wonderful gift of true love, which originates and ends is God - who IS LOVE itself.

Now let's roll some challenges out there:

Craft Heaven #17 - Love is all around
Midweek Magnolias #157 - Show us some Love (use hearts) - I have quite some to choose from! :)
Magnolia-licious #3 - Anything goes with an option use flowers
All About Magnolia #20 - All About love
Magnolia Forever  #50 - Love

Wish you lots and lots of love, happiness and blessings!!
