Sending you Hugs, and Flowers

Hi! Me again today, but this time to share with you a card I did for Mo's Digital Pencil DT.

This features the fabulous image Best of the Bunch, a stamp you can instantly purchase from the online Store. This cutie really melts your heart; I fell in love with the image as soon as I saw it on Mo's FB page.

I coloured the image using Copic markers, and teamed the image with some beautiful Marianne Design papers "Country Style". I think the papers' lovely colours make the stunning image pop out more.

I used some dies and punches to give the card a particular touch, and I honestly love the final  result.

Supplies used:

Dies: Spellbinders, Nellie Snellen
Other supplies: border punch, lace, paper flowers, self-adhesive flat baked pearls, bling, round sentiments stamp, glossy accents on the girl's boots

Distress ink Worn Lipstick was used to distress many of the layers' edges.

I hope that at your part of the world it is less hot that we are here! The fact that Malta is a tiny island, it gets quite humid and hot every summer. But this month, the temperatures are more than 5 degrees higher than June's normal temperature levels.

Tomorrow it will feel like 40 degrees and over, and UV is 11+. I wish I could have a remote control to make summer fast forward :) I know many people love summer, but I cannot count myself with this group, sorry!! :)

And of course, this is the inside of my card. That's all for today from me!

Challenges:

Deep Ocean Challenge - lots of layers

Crafty Sentiments  - Anything goes

Sweet Stampers Challenge  - Dies or Punches

Wish you all well, my dear ones

Blessings

Art Journal Page for today

Hi special peeps from all over the continents!!  💖

I hope that you are doing well, and that you are not feeling like a melting ice-cream, just like I am!!! :) lol
I so wish this hot and humid weather shoos away asap; it gives me so much a lethargic feeling, and I really hate that!!

Enough of my rant! Today I am posting for Magnolia-licious Store, and I will be sharing with you something different which we can do with our lovely Maggies (Magnolia stamps) and other fun stuff that you can buy from the Store. We all have loads of fun stuff to use, especially when it comes to Art Journalling. You can also use things you find at home, in the craft room and in the stationery boxes or drawers.

In fact, I used a couple of older stamps from Magnolia and things I have to create this fun journal page.

I started to create my own background using Gesso, and then Ranger Distress inks. As soon as I was happy with the blended colours, I added splashes of water first, then blue and gold splashes for some fun.

Next step was using Tim Holtz stamps for some grunge flowers and a hint of music notes in some places. Those grunge flowers reminded me somehow of the designs the gates of castles and other majestic buildings often have, so I felt it went with the theme I wanted to create.

Using a Tim Holtz die, I used the die cut instead of a stencil to create the same effect, it is nice to be spontaneous and accept that you cannot own every crafting goody that exists :)

The quote that I wanted to highlight is the following:

"I am a citizen of a Kingdom that cannot be shaken,
a child of a King with no limitations"

For this project I used the 2013 Once Uopn a Time "Sweet Cute Tilda" and  the 2013 Little Circus Moscow Collection "Moscow Cathedral," which I have just won from a couple of Magnolia challenges. I used the top part of the Cathedral, imagining it was a part of a castle instead:)

In this picture you can also notice in white gel pen the Biblical quote I had in mind while doing this art joural page, which is 2 Cor. 6:18:"and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Stickles were used on the castle, and a tiny bit of Tilda's dress. 3D gold paint on Tilda's crown - it definitely made it pop, In this photo you can see the glossy accents I used on the crown I placed above the letter :I", a crown which I cut from part of a patterned paper.

I hope that you like it, and that I inspired you to try something new and get out of the comfort zone. I still have much to learn to make more art journal pages, but thanks to Vicky  I am learning new techniques and encourage myself to get out of my comfort zone more often.

Thank you for joining me here today - Let me remind you of two things:

1. That in Magnolia-licious you can grab some, or a lot, of stamps from previous Magnolia Collections (and other brands) at a very good price - go and check them out NOW .

2. A special offer is on until the 3rd July at the Store! In Shawn's own words:

"Magnolia-licious Store is delighted and thrilled to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday by offering all orders made from June 30th - July 3rd, 2017 to all Canadians
This will work by everyone selecting cheque/money order option when placing their order. I will then convert the US invoice over to Canadian Dollars, then personally send each individual a PayPal invoice reflecting the changes in price.

I will be using Google Currency to convert US funds to Canadian funds."

Baby Fairy Bee

Hi again sweet crafting friends!!

Another creation from me today, and this time it is a card. It showcases Mo's Digital Pencil's lovely stamp by the name of Baby Fairy Bee - a cute little fairy with a bee costume. Isn't she lovely?! :) I decided to give a go to the version with the curly hair, as Mo has two different versions of this cutie, which you can find HERE.

And if you did not realise yet, Mo is have a super Summer Sale on ALL her stamps right now, so if you had some (or a lot) on your bucket list, now is the perfect time to adopt those babes!

💛💛💛

Isn't she cute?

As you can see I used quite a lot of Magnolia Doo Hickey dies from the Vol 10. set, which fit perfectly with this digi stamp :)

I also used the die to lightly stamp some honeycomb shapes around the image.

I also matched an old Basic grey paper I had which had a couple of bees on it. As soon as I decided to use this image, I remember I had a piece of this 12x12 sheet lying somewhere, and I did not stop till I found it :)

This is the inside of the card. I used a Tim Holtz die to create the honey comb effect also on the inside.

I hope you enjoyed this card, and I really, really hope that I brought a smile to your face with this cute fairy. I am virtually sending her to you to bring some positive vibes your way  💖

My Journey - Deep Ocean Challenge Blog GD post

Hello my dear friends!

I hope you are doing fine, and that you are having an awesome week! I was invited to be a Guest Designer for Deep Ocean challenge blog, and the theme of this challenge is a fun one : Die cuts and/or Punches.

Dies are currently the preferable choice we all crafters go for, but I think we all have those punches which we consider still useful and are still part of our craft space. When Karina told me what the theme was, I decided to think a bit out of the box and do something with dies and punches which varies from the frequent card creation. The result is the following...

FRONT COVER

BACK COVER

Right now I am hooked by mixed media projects and the lovely techniques that it involves. But one cannot have every existing product, so I decided to show that we can create something beautiful, with the stash and the tools or products that we currently have.

I was inspired by the awesome Gabrielle in one of her posts, found.HERE.  But instead of stencils and lovely dies, I used what I have, punches, dies and embossing folders, creating a special journal cover to give as a gift.

In the coming photos you can see from where I started:
Some die cuts,  punched textured cardstock, and for the script, I had an embossing folder which I used and cut the piece of cardstock randomly on the front and back page of the journal. You can also observe the arrangement I created using them, together with areas painted with Ranger crackle paint (that green area).

This is the arrangement I decided to build upon (you can see the shapes, embossed paper, embossing paste using stencil, letter stickers, gesso mixed with some grit for added texture)

💜💜💜

When I was satisfied with the background I covered everything with gesso, and built another layer of smaller die cuts and punched paper, gluing some directly on the textured background.  Some of the shapes were popped up with foam pads. Another couple of gesso layers were applied (I forgot to take a photo of this stage!). After that dried, came the fun part where I played with various shimmer sprays  and blended them into each other. The ones I used are called Tattered Angels Glimmer mist. I am not sure if they can still be found in stores, but there are similar products around.

Finally I used gold 3D paint, diluted with some droplets of water to add a more metallic and shimmering look on the raised parts of the journal cover.
If you would to see how it is done, you can learn from the awesome Gabielle herself, she is amazing, and you can find the video tutorial in the link I provided (I am not really good in taking video tutorials, so I opted for photos instead).

I also mixed my own embossing paste and used Tim Holtz dies as my stencil. I hope you like this journal cover as much as I had fun doing it, knowing it won't be my last mixed media project 😊

Tilda with Dotted Boots - Magnolia-licious DT

A special hello to my dear friends who come to visit and share what I created! I hope each one of you is having a wonderful week. Here in Malta the hot weather is increasing, even though we had some light rain in some places last night.

Today starts a brand new challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, and we're hoping that you join us in the fun. For this month we have a fun challenge - it is an Anything goes (using Magnolia or other stamps found at the Store) with an option of masking

I used Tilda with Dotted Boots from this year's Spring Collection, and with it an older Magnolia background. I just loved how it turned out! :)

I coloured these images using Copic markers this time, and I had fun playing with various dies to achieve this card.

I would not want to to miss a lot of goodies which can be found at the Magnolia-licious Store. To make it easier for you to find, I have linked them for you here. These are:

The paper I used on the background of the card - it is Pion paper
A rose charm, which you can find here with other lovely charms to your liking
The rusty tin star - which looks gorgeous with the card
The gorgeous Mirabelle lace
Doo Hickey Box Kit Vol 10 - this time I used the heart dies on the left of the card
Shabby Bark Heart - looks lovely in real life in front of the die cut heart shapes

And these are some detailed photos for you to see the multiple layers I created and the whole set up. I also added a couple of tags, which I created from some scraps of paper left from other projects, and on which I stamped a part of a Stempelglede grunge flower and Tim Holtz butterfly. I love the effect. I also Ditressed many of the layers with Weathered Wood distress ink.

The back of my tags, with some cute sentiments - also edged with Weathered Wood Distress ink.

Dies used on this card: Go Kreate, Spellbinders (flowers), Magnolia, Nellies' frames.

This is the inside of the card, simple but I think it's effective.

I hope you like it. Thank you for those of you who take the time to leave a comment. It really makes me happy to hear from you! :) Come and join the fun, and you will be not only in a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate to spend at the Store, but to become our next Guest Designer :)

Pop over and see the gorgeous makes my friends the other DT members have prepared for you. Big hugs, and I wish each you a lot of good and positive things.
