King for the Day - Mo's DT

Happy weekend to each one of you! I hope you are doing well.

Today I have a male Birthday card to share with you, using a sweet image from Mo's store. The name of this digital stamp is King for the Day. Male cards are always more challenging to me, as I looove embellishing my cards, and I am so limited when it comes to creations meant for men.

But these sweet and versatile images it becomes much more easier :) Thanks Mo!!

I used Copics for my colouring, and some papers which have long been in my stash, which I had left aside on purpose to be at hand when I needed a male card. This one was made for one of the sisters' dad, as he soon has his Birthday.

Isn't he cute with a beer in his hand, and the Television remote in the other? :)

I added some faux wooden letters to the sentiment, which sentiment I arranges around the image using Word.  Then some scraps of the same papers and some Washi tape, a King's crown charm and some gold coloured brads.

I hope this card inspires you, and that you find this image handy, together with so many more, for your male projects. If so look no further - and pop over to Mo's Store.

Sending you gigantic hugs to your part of the world, thanking you for prayers and well wishes during this rough period. Thank you to my awesome Community who walks with me this journey everyday, and a huge thank you to the Design Teams I am part of who understand perfectly my current situation, and have patience with me when I do not finish my projects on time. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart; I am such a lucky girl!!

A happy Tilda - Magnolia-licious DT

A special Easter Hi to you who came to visit me here today! I hope you had a lovely Family day and enjoyed this Special Feast in any way which you like :)

Today marks the start of a new Challenge at Magnolia-licious, an easy "Anything Goes" is the theme for challenge number #7.

This time I decided to colour my Wihoo Emoji Tilda with Copics, and place her as the centre piece in this fun card. This is a stamp I had won from Craft Heaven Challenge, and I'm glad I got to play with it :)

Even though mum's health situation is a very delicate one at the moment, I felt that creating this card, bit by bit, did have a calming effect on me. Unfortunately mum is still in hospital, and things seem to be very complicated. But I know God is there - giving her peace and serenity, even though she always hated hospitals. It is not easy to see her so frail and so dependent on us when I know how difficult this thing is for her. The truth is that she always manage to teach me a lot without any words - even in these situations, her faith is showing in her strength and her acceptance of all that this constant treatment entails.

Anyway... no more babbling from my side! Back to my card...

The colouring of this cutie was very easy peasy, and to go with her cute smiley face I decided on a green and pink colour combo. I think these colours bring out the happy feeling this stamp gives, and they are perfect to use for a lot of different occasions.

Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the papers I used, as they were among other loose paper in my stash, and could not remember from what company they are.
Let me remind you that you can find this particular stamp and various Magnolia and other stamp collections, embellishments and lots of new additions in Magnolia-licious Store

For this card I also used some lovely dies from the Doo Hickey volume 10 kitLook at those cute butterfly wings, dragonflies, and also the lovely hearts which I tagged behind the main image.

Other dies I used on this card are: Go Kreate, Impression Obsession Die, Dienamics

Other embellishments I added were: cheesecloth, self-adhesive pearls, ribbon, lace, and some gesso here and there for that soft feel.

Some flowers were a must for pretty Tilda!

I hope you let me know what is your opinion about the card, but also that you pop over on the challenge blog and see for yourself the cute projects that the DT prepared for you. Please do come and join the fun, and inspire us with your talents! And do not forget that Shawn is offering one Random Winner a $20 Gift Certificate to be spent in the Store!!

Last but not least, I humbly ask you to keep supporting with prayers for mum, so that she will not be in a lot of pain during this rough time. Thank you to each one of  those who leave me private messages on Fb, send emails etc. A big hug also to the sweet people who are sending me lovely crafting RAKs as a sign of love and support - the smile you manage to bring on my face is a ray of hope! You are AMAZING people!! :) God bless each of you!!!

Hanglar card

I would like to share with you today a Hanglar thank you card for the Hospital Ward staff where my mum is being cared for at the moment.

Yesterday i was a bit sick and I could not visit, so to keep my mind off a bit from meany thoughts I coloured this Hanglar image that I had, and did a quick card with it.

I encountered a sketch which I liked on the Sketchy Challenges blog, and I decided that it can fit nicely into what I had in mind to do, cute but not too complicated as it had to be finished within a couple of hours.

Image was coloured using Copics, and I added different types of flowers to it, together with some die-cuts, doily, rhinestones, bling, round stamped sentiments and dry embossing panel.

I also added this thank you sentiment, a stamp from Sweet Pea Designs, very cute - I think it fitted perfectly.

As for the inside I kept it clean and simple, but I think the heartbeat idea of that stamped design from the same set is cool for the Nurses and staff. What do you think? :)

Finally some challenges for this Babe, not to feel alone and abandoned :)

Mo Manning DT - Tiny Oak

Hello my lovely friends!

Yesterday we started a new challenge on DP2 Challenge, but it was a hard day for me at hospital with mum, who is very poorly and very very weak right now, so I did not find the time and mental energy to post about it. Sorry for that.

For this challenge I used a very cute digital stamp designed by Mo. This sweet fairy holding an acorn is called Mighty Oak. You can find it in Mo's STORE together with an increasing number of sweet images for all occasions. It is always so hard to choose from all the cuteness.

This particular stamp comes also with a separate text which says "Mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow."

I had in mind to use this same sentiment with this stamp, for I sense hope in this message, an encouragement for the receiver of this card. I had already printed the sentiment, but then I realised I did not have enough space for it. Then I decided to do something else; I wrote with separate letters "HOPE never fails".

I coloured this sweet fairy using Copic markers, also using Stickles on her cute fairy wings. She is very easy to colour. One can also choose to paper-piece her onesie. Thinking a bit out of the box,I used Gesso to create the spots on the picture, creating not only contrast, but also texture.

The background papers are printed, using some images from the internet, I looked for a background with small acorns, and then a coordinating antique blue design. I think they fitted her perfectly.

I also created some pine cones to do something different from the usual flowers. The idea came after I read Norma's tutorial on how to do them, here.  I can improve on them, but even though they are very time-consuming, they gave a particular and unique feel to the card.

The leaves are Magnolia die cuts from the Parsley and Rocket salad die, the thinner ones are punch cuts.

Supplies used: tulle, antique blue ribbon, self-adhesive pearls, butterfly punches, bird chipboard, White Gesso, Distress inks, dry embossing folder

Dies: Spellbinders, Go-Kreate, Magnolia

Please pop over the Challenge blog to see what the other Dream Team members have created. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!! And do share your love for Mo's images by your creation. remember that one of you can win a $5 voucher for Mo's online Store!

Magnolia-licious DT - Magnolia Gift Bag

I hope you are having a wonderful week, and that you are getting some wonderful Spring weather in your part of the world.

My week did not start on a very positive note, as we had to take my 84 yr old mother to hospital on Sunday, and her heath is very frail and weak. But these things are also part of our life and we have to remain calm, positive and accept the will of God not only when things come to our favour.

On a more cheerful note, today we start a new easy peasy challenge at Magnolia-licious.

 Challenge #7 with the theme
"Anything Goes" with the option of metal.

Remember to use either a Magnolia image on your creation, or any stamp from the brands that Shawn has in the Magnolia-licious Store. Mentioning the wonderful Store, let me remind you that you can now find Pion paper, several wonderful embellishments like charms, bark hearts and other cuties, the latest Magnolia Doo Hickey dies etc. Go and have a look - Easter is coming, so you can always suggest some new toys for a present ;)

Now for my make: for this challenge I had fun creating a Magnolia gift bag.

I used the stamp from the 2010 Cosy Family Collection Tilda with cherries, but I decided that they are blueberries instead of cherries :)

I went with the purple and blue combo, which I certainly like - purple/lavender/lilac.. these shades are  my super favourite colour.

Tilda is coloured with Distress inks using the following colours:

skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick for the cheeks
Clothes: Stormy Sky (Also used for the blueberries) and Pumice stone
Hair: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw
Background: Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender
Grass Peeled Paint

As for the metal option I added some bits here and there. I have this super cute metal corner which one can find at Craft Heaven shop (it was part of my challenge prize, yay!)
I also added that metal and glass embellishment behind the main image, a metal charm tied to the tag on the bag's handle and a pin with some pearls which coordinate with the paper I used.

These are the two tags which you can see behind the man paper panel, they were in my stash and I decided to use them and stamp a sentiment behind each one of them.

I distressed all edges using Walnut Stain. Other bits and pieces I added are:
different laces and ribbons, paper and lace flowers, flat backed rhinestones and pearls, a piece of corrugated cardboard with a white die-cut frame behind it, gesso, butterflies (using punches), round postage stamps, swirls die-cuts, heart paper doily

All the project received a gesso treatment (here and there) and I also used it on the main image (those white dots around the image).
These are the stamped sentiments.

I hope you like it and that you let me know what you think about this project. Please pop over on the CHALLENGE BLOG, or on our  Fb Page to leave some love on the other DT members beautiful takes. I hope that you share your awesome talent with us by participating in our fun challenge.

Remember that by doing this you can win an awesome $20 Gift Certificate which Shawn is offering for a random winner!

I'm off now, as it's time for me to go to the hospital. Enjoy, and lift your heart with all that's in it to the Lord. He is the one who sustains us in all situations :) Sending you love and peace!
